Day 1 Jeddah
Saturday 10th February 2018
Arrive in Jeddah. Transfer to Hotel for a briefing.
Overnight in Jeddah.

Day 2 Jeddah
Sunday 11th February 2018
A full day visiting Jeddah.
This includes a visit to 19th-century ottoman houses constructed of coral and wood, including the Nasif House then a drive along the corniche of Jeddah. The roads acts as an open-air museum displaying an array of modern sculptures
In the afternoon, it will be possible to visit the Al Taybat City Museum with its large collection of arts from the Arabian peninsula.

Day 3 Jeddah – Abha
Monday 12th February 2018
Morning flight to Abha in the South West of the country – capital of the Asir region. Asir is the greenest and highest part of Saudi Arabia and can get quite cool in the winter months.
Transfer to Hotel.
In the afternoon you will be able to visit the local baskets’ market, Muftaha Village Art Gallery and Shada Palace.

Day 4 Abha and around
Tuesday 13th February 2018
Full day excursion to the mountainous countryside around Abha.
This will include a cable car trip up Mount Souda – Saudi Arabi’s highest peak as well as Khamis Mushayt and it’s antique silver souk. There will also be time to visit Hamsan village with its traditional buildings and stone tower.
After lunch, there will be a further chance to see life in this region of Saudi Arabia that borders Yemen. A chance to meet with some of the flower men of Tihama as well as a visit to Habala village. Now abandoned the village consists of dwellings set into the rock of a cliff face. Inhabitants used to lower themselves to their homes with ropes.

Day 5 Abha – Riyadh
Wednesday 14th February 2018
Transfer to airport for flight to Riyadh.
Visit camel market before an afternoon drive to Dirryyah village. The UNESCO world heritage site is where the history of Al Saud Dynasty began.

Day 6 Riyadh – Al Ula
Thursday 15th February 2018
Morning Visit Musmuk fort and the national museum. Musmak Fort one of the most important monuments in the city of Riyadh. The fort was captured by the Saud family in 1902 starting the start of the Saud family rule of the region.
Transfer to Riyadh airport.
Fly to Al Ula.
Overnight in Al Ula

Day 7 Al Ula
Friday 16th February 2018
Full day visit to the archaeological site of Madain Saleh. After Petra, the grandest of all Nabatean archaeological sites and a real highlight to Saudi Arabia. The day will include visiting Hijaz Railway Station, the Nabatean Well, Qasr Al Bint, Diwan and Al Farid Palace.

Days 8 Al Ula – Jeddah
Saturday 17th February 2018
Morning visit to the old mud-built village of Al Ula, Al Khuraiba Didan and Lehean civilization archaeological sites.
Transfer to airport.
Fly to Jeddah.
Overnight in Jeddah.

Day 9 Jeddah – End
Sunday 18th February 2018
Transfer to airport for departure.

Accommodation:
We do not and cannot offer a uniform accommodation standard on our itineraries. We consider comfort, location, design, character, historical interest and whether the money we spend will go into the pockets of the local community when we make our choices of where to stay.
The accommodation will be based on 2 people sharing.

Transport:
When we choose our vehicles and drivers we take into consideration the road conditions, the length of journey and the competence of the man behind the wheel. Your comfort and enjoyment of the journey is the first priority.

Guides:
